2019 Ladera Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc
92 Points - Wine Review Online
The 2019 Ladera Sauvignon Blanc is comprised of Sauvignon Blanc clone 1 and Sauvignon Musque, exclusively sourced from Ryan’s Vineyard, located in the Oak Knoll District AVA. Meticulous attention-to-detail in the vineyard and a unique micro-climate, make Ryan’s Vineyard one of the finest Sauvignon Blanc vineyards in all of Napa Valley, producing wines with inherent varietal distinction, intense fruit expression and great balance.
Harvest started on September 3rd and was completed on September 16th, 2019.
The Sauvignon Blanc and Sauvignon Musque grapes were harvested in the cool hours of the night then whole cluster pressed to preserve the delicate fruit aromas. The juice was cold settled for 24 hours in tank then transferred to French oak (15% new, 55% neutral) and stainless-steel barrels (30%) and to undergo fermentation. The wine was aged sur-lies and stirred routinely to create a long, rich and complex palate.
The 2019 Ladera Sauvignon Blanc reveals exotic aromas of ripe melon and guava with fragrant bursts of honeysuckle and jasmine. An elevated wine that is distinctive in style, the palate is juicy and expansive balanced with supple texture and mouthwatering acidity that extends through the finish.
